PURPOSE:A milk cosmetic that is prepared by adding low-methoxy value pectin or carrageenan to an emulsion of animal milk, thus making it possible to be used in a fresh state without heat treatment and giving good feeling on use and cosmetic effect. CONSTITUTION:A low-methoxy value pectin, preferably an extract from citrus fruits, which is buffered with an organic acid or its salt and phosphates and has esterification degree of 12-48%, or carrageenan is added to an emulsion composed of animal milk and other cosmetics to produce a gel cosmetic with high thixotropic properties. The resultant cosmetic becomes sol by stirring or other operation and spreads very well on the skin. Further, after application, it becomes gel to give the skin smoothness and prevent the sagging loss. As carrageenan, is used i(iota)-type carrageenan extracted from a red algae, Euchema of Sorieria in Rhodophyta. |
