<p>PURPOSE:To provide an antistatic agent which imparts persistent antistatic properties to fabric, cotton, paper, films, etc., without adversely affecting the feeling, or causing a decrease in the adhering strength and which comprises a particular urethane prepolymer blocked material. CONSTITUTION:A urethane prepolymer contg. free isocyanate groups is obtd. by reacting a compd. having at least one tertiary amino group and at least one active hydrogen atom each per molecule of formula I or II [wherein R1 is an (un)substituted monovalent hydrocarbon residue; R2 is (oxy)alkylene or polyoxyalkylene; X is a hydroxyl, amino, or mercapto group] with a compd. contg. at least two active hydrogen (atoms (e.g., polyether polyol) and an org. polyisocyanate (e.g., tolylene diisocyanate). This prepolymer is cationized with a cationizing agent (e.g., sulfuric acid) or amphoterized with an amphoterizing agent (e.g., monochloroacetic acid), followed by blocking reaction. Thus, an antistatic agent comprising a cationic and/or amphoteric, water-soluble or water- dispersible, thermoreactive urethane blocked material having blocked isocyanate groups, is obtnd.</p> |
