<p>A method and apparatus for seismic vibrator surveying which yields improved coupling of the vibrator to the earth's surface with significantly reduced disruption of the earth's surface remaining after the vibrator is used. A preferred embodiment comprises a flat metal plate with a flat earth-coupling layer of neoprene bonded thereto which allows imparting of seismic energy into the earth directly through the surface of a paved roadway.
