PURPOSE:To display a page concerned in an instruction manual describing a processing method for the states of a copying machine on a part of the copying machine body so that a user can utilize the display by controlling the display by a computer. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 50 buit in the copying machine controls the sequence of the copying machine in accordance with a program previously inputted in a ROM 51. When the user requires to see the instruction manual at the time of executing complex edition or variable power operation or at the time of generation of abnormality, the state of the copying machine is detected, the state is displayed and the page number of the instruction manual in which procesure corresponding to the state is described are displayed. In case of the abnormality of paper jam, e.g., the operation of a main driving shaft of the copying machine is detected through a pulse encoder 54, a paper jam LED 42 is emitted and displayed by the operation of the CPU 50 and the page number describing counterplane for paper jam in the instruction manual is displayed on the copying machine body. |
