PURPOSE:To automatically set a new tape when a tape is out by providing a plurality of reel retaining members and a stock portion for transferring a reel between the retaining members and a reel retaining portion. CONSTITUTION:An automatic tape feeder includes a reel retaining portion 1 for retaining a reel 8 round which a tape 7 supplied to a taping device 10 is wound, and a stock portion 2 for transferring the reel 8 between the retaining portion 1 and the stock portion. In the retaining portion 1, the reel 8 is held by a clamp 16 driven by a cylinder 13 in a magazine 9. The stock portion 2 comprises a rotary table 30 fixed to a driving device 31 and for example, four retaining shafts 32 disposed at equal angle and interval on the table. The reel 8 is retained and released from retention to each shaft 32 by a retention control station 5. The control station 5 comprises a drive source 44 for rotating a gear 42 capable of engaging and disengaging with a driven member 36 mounted on the other end of the retaining shaft 32, and a cylinder 50 for bringing the gear 42 into contact or out of contact with the driven member 36. |
