A heat exchanger comprises finned elements (10) fitted onto a tube (20). The elements are formed with fan like blades formed with a transverse portion (11) and an inclined portion (12). Adjacent elements are secured to each other and the tube by a push fitting arrangement which may include rings (21). The push fitting may be by means of a tool (30). The heat exchanger may be used for heating by means of steam, oil, water or electric energy or may be used for cooling by means of water or oil.
