PURPOSE:To provide the titled detector for detecting a fault in cases where a motor is locked or a printer does not print normally, by a method wherein a printing timing pulse signal generated in accordance with the rotation of a motor is monitored while driving the motor. CONSTITUTION:When the printing timing pulse signal A generated by a printing timing pulse generator 13 is lacked, this condition is detected by a pulse lack detecting circuit 30. An AND circuit 31 feeds a signal D into an integrating circuit 32 when an AND condition is satisfied by a motor-driving signal fed from a motor-controlling part 12 and an output from the circuit 30. A wave-shaping circuit 33, cooperating with the integrating circuit 32, outputs a signal F when it is detected that the signal D is continuously outputted from the AND circuit 31 for a predetermined period of time. The signal F is stored and held in a storing circuit 34, by which a signal G from an output terminal Q is inputted into a printer-controlling circuit 2, and a stopping command signal ST is outputted into the motor-controlling part 12 and a solenoid coil controlling part 15. |
