PURPOSE:To make high-density digital magnetic recording possible, by dividing binary data strings into n-bit blocks, adding an 1-bit index to each block and recording each block after they are converted into n+1-bit blocks. CONSTITUTION:The most suitable index is determined by an index generator 409 from three calculation results of computers 407, 408, and 410, and a switch 406 is switched by these two index signals. Namely, when ''0'' is selected as the index, the content of a buffer register 405 is selected and regarded as a recording word Bn-1 and, when ''1'' is selected as the index, the content of another buffer register 404 is selected and regarded as a recording word Bn. The selected recording words are delivered from an output terminal 412 after they are converted into serial recording word strings by a nonblocking device 411. |
