PURPOSE:To prepare L-histidine in high efficiency, by using a specific L-histidine-producing strain resistant to 2-fluorohistidine. CONSTITUTION:A mutant having 2-fluorohistidine resistance and obtained by the chemical treatment, radiation treatment, etc. of a histidine-producing strain (e.g. Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 13761), is cultured aerobically under shaking (or by submerged technique with aeration and agitation). The microbial cells are removed from the obtained culture liquid, and the L-histidine is collected from the liquid e.g. by ion exchange resin technique. |
