PURPOSE:To prevent the delay of response when changing from low speed to the abrupt acceleration, by providing means for varying the capacity of a surge tank provided in the upstream of a throttle valve in accordance to the travelling state of a car. CONSTITUTION:An engine 4 associated with a turbo-charger is supercharging the pressurized air through a surge tank 20 and a throttle valve in the downstream to an engine 4 by driving a turbine 3 through an exhaust gas and operating a compressor 2. Here a balloon 22 equipped with a valve 23 is arranged in a chamber of said tank 20 defined by a punching plate 24 for extinguishing the backfire. Under low speed of a car having low supercharge, the capacity of said tank 20 will decrease as the balloon increases thus to reduce the influence of said tank 20 at the abrupt acceleration. Under high speed said balloon 22 is shrinked by the high supercharge pressure to increase capacity of the tank 20 thus to exhibit the predetermined performance. |
