The invention relates to a box (1/12) which can be dismantled, for use as furniture, consisting of at least five plates (2/13), namely an upper plate (2a/13a), a bottom (2b/13b), side walls (2c/13c, 2d/13d) and a rear wall (2e/13e). These assembled plates are milled out at the edge and, while being connected, are temporarily held together by resilient clips (3). The clips contribute respectively to holding together two adjacent plates (2/13), in that with one end they clamp the edge (8) of one plate (2/13) and are held with the other end in a slot (10/21) on the inner face of the other plate (2/13), the edge of which is cut out in such a way that the clip (3) passes through the combined structure. The invention can be used for making pieces of furniture which come onto the market as ''KITS'' (not-yet-assembled transport units). <IMAGE>
