PURPOSE:To suppress the temperature rise and to enhance the reliability and efficiency of a switching regulator by employing as a magnetic core for a saturable reactor an amorphous metal magnetic material having specified ranges of rectangular ratio, and initial magnetic permeability of DC magnetic characteristics. CONSTITUTION:Switching elements 1 which are periodically interrupted are connected in series with the primary coil 3 of a transformer 2. A saturable reactor 5 is connected in series with the secondary coil 4 of the output of the transformer 2, and a control circuit 7 for maintaining the output voltages of a rectifier 6 and an output terminal constant is connected. An amorphous metal magnetic material which has 95-98% of rectangular ratio, and more than 800 of initial magnetic permeability mue of 1kHz of main DC magnetic characteristics are used as a magnetic core for the reactor 5. |
