<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the variation in the torque of a generator by controlling a field current so that the output peak of the generator is synchronized with the peak of the variation in the torque of a crankshaft, thereby enhancing the generating efficiency of the generator. CONSTITUTION:A generator is interlocked to the crankshaft of an internal combustion engine, when a piston in a cylinder is disposed, for example, at the top dead point, the mounting positions of an armature 4 of a generator and a pole 5 are determined so that the armature 4 and the pole 5 face with each other in such a manner that the output peak (peak of the comsumption torque) of the generator is synchronized with that of the variation in the torque of the crankshaft.
