PURPOSE:To obtain a phosphor with small coating ununiformity that can be applied much with a few processes by moving the phosphor solution injected in one U-shaped tube to the other U-shaped tube and drying and sintering the phosphor applied on the one U-shaped tube. CONSTITUTION:Both integrated U-shaped tubes 3a and 3b are revolved by 180 degrees centering fixed handles 7 and the positional relation of both the U- shaped tubes 3a and 3b is inverted (see Fig. (a)). Thus, the inner surface of the U-shaped tube 3a is coated with the phosphor. Such a U-shaped tube 3a is sent to the drying and sintering process that is a subsequent process. Simultaneously, the opening end of a subsequent U-shaped tube is made to touch the opening end of the lower U-shaped tube 36. The inner surface of the U-shaped tube is sequentially coated with the phosphor assuming Figs. (a) to (c) as one-cycle process. Besides, for example, the reduction of the quantity of phosphor solution in the U-shaped tube caused by coating can be compensated by injecting the phosphor every several cycles. |
