PURPOSE:To improve visual whiteness by contg. specific anthraquinone blue dyes in a coating layer of a polyolefin resin. CONSTITUTION:The anthraquinone blue dyes expressed by the general formula (I) or (II) (where R1-R6 are hydrogen, hydroxyl groups, amino groups, halogen, of <=4c alkyl or alkoxyl group. Each may be mutually the same or different.) are incorporated in a coating layer of a polyolefin resin on the side to be provided with a photographic emulsion layer. White pigments such as titanium oxide are slightly yellowish and since gelatin shows a light yellow color as well, whiteness is improved by said dyes and the sharpness of the pictures on photographic paper is improved. Said dyes withstand against high temp. in resin coating and have good affinity to the resins and white pigments. |
