PURPOSE:To obtain a cell in which increase of the internal resistance is little during storage by oxidizing lead ion and depositing lead dioxide on the surface of a molded body by immersing said molded body having divalent silver oxide as its main positive-electrode active substance into the alkaline aqueous solution containing bivalent lead ions. CONSTITUTION:A molded body is immersed for 1hr into the solution prepeared by dissoving 1gr. of lead monoxide into 200ml. of 30% aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide, and lead dioxide is deposited onto the surface of the molded body, while divalent silver oxide on the surface of the molded body is reduced to silver (I) oxide. Thus, the molded body having a lead dioxide layer on the surface and formed of divalent silver oxide which is to be reduced to silver (I) oxide, as its positive-electrode active substance, is used for a positive electrode to assemble a cell. Namely, the positive electrode 1 described the above is inserted into a positive electrode can 5 into which a part of electrolyte is poured, and a separator 6 and an electrolyte absorbing body 7 are loaded onto said positive electrode 1 successively. |
