PURPOSE:To obtain a color cathode-ray tube in which the utilization rate of luminescence of phosphor substance is high and by which bright image with a superior contrast can be reproduced, by allowing an Al film to be interposed in the boundary between the dot or stripe of phosphor substance and a light absorbing material surrounding said dot or stripe, so as to have the light reflected. CONSTITUTION:An Al film 5 for suppressing light absorption is interposed in the boundary between the dot or stripe of phosphor substance and a light absorbing material surrounding said substance. When the Al-film is interposed in the boundary between phosphor substance and a light absorbing material surrounding said phosphor substance, luminescence of phosphor substance is not absorbed into the light absorbing material, and the light reflected on said film is further reflected on a so-called Al film 4 metal-backed, and transmitted in front of a panel, and thus serves to improvement of the brightness of the reproduced image. |
