PURPOSE:To provide a liquid amount measuring device for measuring and indicating the amount of a liquid in a tank, wherein the liquid pressure in a liquid supplying system is detected and displayed on a gauge as the amount of the liquid in the tank, so that the amount of liquid in the tank can be detected without requiring any additional modification on the tank to facilitate the production of the same. CONSTITUTION:An operation shaft 13 is connected at its one end to a diaphragm 12 an at its other end to a slider 16 which in turn makes contact at its upper and lower ends with resistors 17 and 18, respectively. The slider 16 is slidable to the left and right along the resistors 17 and 18 as the operation shaft 13 is displaced. The arrangement is such that the resistors 17 and 18 exhibit greater resistance values as the slider moves from the right to the left. One 17 of the resistors is connected to a plus (+) side of a battery 19 via an ignition switch, while the other 18 of the resistors is connected to the earth (-) side of the battery through a fuel gauge (e). Therefore, the electric current supplies from the battery 19 to the fuel gauge (e) is varied as the slider slides to the left and right. The fuel gauge (e) is an electric type gauge having a pointer 20 which swings in accordance with the magnitude of the electric current thereby to indicate the amount of fuel in the fuel tank (b). |
