Water repellent sand for cement mortar was prepd. Thus, a mixt. of 5-10 wt.% triethanolamine trioleate made of oleic acid and triethanolamine, 0.5-1.0 wt.% paraffin chloride, 2-10 wt.% polyvinylalcohol and ethylenevinylacetate copolymer, suitable amount of metal soap and 150-200 wt.% water was deluted with 20-40 times of water. 0.5-1.0 wt.% Pentaerithritol was added to the result mixt. and coated on the surface of sand to obtain the water repellent agent-coated sand.
