<p>PURPOSE:To measure a roll shape in the inline state with a high precision, by measuring the distance to the roll by a distance sensor which can be moved in parallel with the roll and measuring the quantity of displacement of the sensor with irradiation of an optical beam and using both measured values. CONSTITUTION:A distance sensor 27 is attached to a slidable truck 22 on a guide rail 21 parallel with a roll 11 of a rolling mill, and a deflection meter 30 consisting of reflective mirrors 34a and 34b is provided on the left face. In case of measurement, a position in the circumferential direction is specified by a rotary encoder 44, and the sensor 27 is moved to measure the distance to the surface of the roll, and the measured value is inputted to an operating device 41. Meanwhile, the sensor 27 is irradiated with the optical beam from a laser beam generator 31, and the quantity of deflection of the sensor 27 to the optical axis of the beam is measured through an interferometer 32 and etc. In the device 41, a prescribed correction is performed on a basis of both measured values to calculate the shape of the roll. Thus, the shape of the roll is measured in the inline state with a high precision even if the rail 21 is distorted because of thermal expansion or the like.</p> |
