PURPOSE:To provide electrodes uniformly over the entire surfaces of flexible polymer film substrates by providing dummy electrodes to be loaded with biasing voltage in the areas outside the various electrodes on the inner sides of the film substrates and maintaining the potential differences between the same and lead electrode, etc. always under the threshold voltage of liquid crystals. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes are provided on the inner surfaces of upper, lower substrates 1, 2 of polyethylene terephthalate films, etc. which are disposed to face each other. Segment electrodes 3 and lead wires 4 are provided to the substrate 1, and dummy electrodes 5 are provided at specified intervals in the areas except the same. Common electrodes 6 and lead electrodes 7 are provided to the substrate 2, and dummy electrodes 8 are provided in areas except the same. Voltages are applied from the outside through lead parts 9. Oriented films 10 and gap agents 11 are coated on these electrodes, and the substrates 1, 2 are superposed by means of adhesive agents 12. Liquid crystals 13 are sealed in the space between the same and polarizing plates 14 are superposed on the outer sides. |
