Fuel feed pump

A pump is proposed which serves for pumping fuel from a storage tank to an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle. The fuel feed pump has an intermediate plate, which has a circular recess and is clamped between two plates. This recess is covered by the two outer plates. In the recess is a pump rotor eccentrically supported in relation to the wall of the recess, which pump rotor has grooves which are open towards the wall of the recess and in which pump elements designed as rollers are located. When the rotor turns the pump elements are pressed by the centrifugal force onto the wall of the recess of the intermediate plate serving as raceway, so that in the direction of rotation of the rotor pump working chambers are defined between the adjacent pump elements. The raceway for the pump elements is formed by the inner wall of a composite bushing pressed into the recess of the intermediate plate, the inner surface of which bushing is provided with a plastic coating. Due to the particular construction of the composite bushing a high degree of wear resistance is achieved, which decisively improves the operating reliability of the fuel feed pump. <IMAGE>
