In a slide changer drive for slide projectors having a transportable magazine to one side of, and parallel to, the optical axis and, transverse to this, a movable slide changer, which is provided with a changeover guide (8) which is controlled by an electromagnet (15) and which determines the direction of transport of the magazine, pulses of identical length can be used for the forward and reverse transport and only one electromagnet is required if the electromagnet (15) can be subjected to two current directions (+U, -U) corresponding to the possible directions of transport and if a magnetic dipole (14) enters into the interior of the electromagnet (15), which dipole is mechanically connected with the changeover guide (8) and has a definite rest position when no current passes through the electromagnet (15). <IMAGE>
