The invention relates to an arrangement for adaptive equalisation of an at least three-stage redundancy-added communications signal which is to be transmitted via lines in the baseband. The equalisation of a multi-stage signal incurs high cost. According to the invention, this cost is substantially reduced by converting the received multi-stage communications signal into a binary signal with the aid of a filter before the equalisation. The binary signal can then be equalised in a simple fashion.
