<p>The thioester of pharmaceutically N-acetylcysteine with salicylic acid and the pharmacologically acceptable and non toxic organic and inorganic salts thereof, show some interesting therapeutic properties both as anti-pyretic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities and as mucolytic activity.</p><p>The method for the preparation of the compounds of the invention provided the reaction of the chloride of acetylsalicylic acid or of the mixed anhydride of the acetylsalicylic acid, in an aqueous medium and at low temperature, with N-acetylcysteine.</p> |
