Free-standing cooking hobs in kitchens are sometimes placed on top of refrigerators to save working areas; this can raise the height of the hob to an inconvenient level. This combined refrigerator (1) and hob (2) is flush with standard working-height (9) benches. At the back of the hob are ventilation louvres (8), which allow the heat from the refrigerator compressor to escape. Cross-over switches on the control panel (7) prevent the use of more than two of the hot-plates (3,4,5,6) at any one time; this is done so that the max. total current drawn by the hob plus 'fridge does not exceed the fuse limit of a standard single-phase ring main plug point.
|
