<p>The arrangement is intended for cutting a (deep-frozen) gateau or the like into a number of sector-shaped portions, using a carrier (2,5; 3) with radial cutting blades (4) which is hydraulically, pneumatically (8; 9) or mechanically actuated to drive the blades into the gateau and retract them. Cutting is carried out in two stages (e.g. 3, then 2) using two separate sets of radial blades such that the second stage commences when the blades of the first cutting stage begin withdrawal. The blades are preferably spaced such that the blades of the second stage bisect the sectors cut by those of the first stage. Dividing e.g. deep-frozen gateau etc into equal sector-shaped portions. The arrangement minimises adhesion of cake material to the blades on withdrawal and any damage to the cake and its decoration.</p> |
