The invention relates to a composite supporting framework for a horizontal conveyor, which is self-contained and, in addition to the horizontal conveyor, also accommodates and covers walkways. To permit kit-like assembly of the supporting frameworks using a small number of components which can be transported in a space-saving manner and at the same time allow simple and rapid mounting at the place of use, the invention provides that in the longitudinal direction the tubular structure be composed of sheet-metal channel sections which are interconnected at their joints by means of connection flanges, that each channel section be formed from four sheet-metal blanks which form the side walls of the channel section, that of the blank longitudinal sides which abut one another in the corner regions, one be provided with a folded connection edge which in each case is connected to the adjacent blank of the adjoining side wall, and that the horizontal conveyor be connected by its equipment frame to a support frame which is housed in the sheet-metal channel section and is connected to the latter.
