PURPOSE:To obtain the continuous speed-changing between two gear shafts by furnishing mutually-engaging several pairs of gears with missing teeth on two shafts without overlapping in their tooth parts respectively. CONSTITUTION:Gears 1 and 1' are rotated and their final teeth A and C are brought into contact at a point X1. As the rotation is carried on further, a tooth B of the gear 2 comes close to a tooth D passing through the tooth D and a tooth E of the gear 2', and thereby, a contact point X moves to the point X1. Teeth B and D are brought into contact as teeth A and C at a point X2 simultaneously in an instant. As the rotation is continued, teeth A and C are disengaged, and transmission is started from gears 1 and 1' to gears 2 and 2' without stopping to change the revolving ratio between shafts O1 and O2. In this manner, the continuous automatic speed-change can be obtained from gears 2 and 2' to gears 3 and 3'. |
