PURPOSE:To lower the cost of products, by removing a part of coarse particles contg. a large amount of unburned carbon from coal ash, adding water to the remainder, granulating it and then spontaneously burning unburned carbon. CONSTITUTION:Coal ash having the content of unburned carbon above 8wt% is fractioned to remove a part of coarse paticles from it by the control of a damper 7, conditioned to adjust an amount of unburned carbon to 5.5-8.0wt%, and then reserved in a silo 9. Thereafter, it is charged in a humidifying-mixing machine 11, treated by the mixing machine 11 to control water content at 10- 25wt%, and rehumidified by a granulator 12 to obtain granulated coal ash having water content of 15-30wt% and a particle size of 5-20mm. in diameter. The granulated coal ash is then piled up to thickness of 200-250mm. on a sintering vehicle 18, introduced into an igniting chamber 16 and primarily ignited at its surface part by an igniting burner 17. While said coal ash is travelling through the igniting chamber 16, unburned carbon is spontaneously burnt by absorbing gas downwards by an exhaust gas fan 22 through a wind box 19. |
