Heat-insulated basket or basket holder for a group of beverage containers which is produced entirely from thin sheet-like foamed plastic material. The basket holder has lateral flaps which can be brought into an open position in order to facilitate cooling of the beverage containers and make them visible, and which can be moved into a closed position and locked therein in order to keep the beverages cool over an extended period. A handle is provided in order to facilitate the carrying of the holder. A locking device is provided between the upper part of the basket holder, which can be swung open, and its lower part, in order to keep the holder in the enclosed and locked state as required.
