The invention relates to a stereoscopic device consisting of a housing, in the front wall of which two viewing stubs equipped with optics are arranged, if necessary, and the rear wall of which serves as picture carrier. The invention is based on the object of developing such a stereoscopic device for viewing television displays of any type so that the viewer, who is located within arbitrary living or exhibition rooms can enjoy a stereoscopic television reception independently of the illumination conditions of the room. This object is achieved by the fact that in the area of the rear wall, two television sets, the screens of which have the lateral spacing required for the stereoscopic viewing, are arranged. The device according to the invention is in every respect compatible with regard to the existing television broadcasting systems. It is only necessary to transmit the supplementary stereoscopic picture for the "normal picture" already radiated in any case, on an adjacent channel, and to adjust the second television set to the reception of the stereoscopic supplement. <IMAGE>
