PURPOSE:To avert fluctuations in spraying conditions owing to formation of solidified layers and to obtain fine powder of small variations in grain size distribution by spraying molten metal centrifugally while heating the solidified layer formed by dropping the molten metal onto the molten metal receiving surface of a rotating body so as to adjust the thickness thereof. CONSTITUTION:In a centrifugal sprayer, the molten metal 5 of a powder material is supplied onto the molten metal receiving surface 9a of a rotating body 9, and the thickness of the solidified layer 14 formed when the molten metal solidifies is adjusted by controlling the quantity of heat radiation of a heater provided above the body 9. Here, said quantity is so controlled as to keep the thickness t1 of the layer 14 formed on the parts other than the parts where the flow 8 of the molten drops smaller than the thickness t2 of the layer 12 formed on the parts where the flow 8 of the molten metal drops, that is, so as to maintain t1<=t2. Therefore, the fluctuations in spraying conditions owing to the formation of the layer 14 is averted. Excellent effects such as an increase in the diameter of the body 9 and an increase in rotating speed are unnecessary are provided other than the above-described characteristics. |
