PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent rolled product by arranging a lower axialflow burner nearly in the middle between a moving and a fixed beam arranged at a narrow interval in the width wise direction of a furnace, and thus obtaining a uniform temperature distribution of a billet in the furnace widthwise direction. CONSTITUTION:The shore 5 of moving beams 3 and the shore 4 of fixed beams 2 are constructed to form gates, and arranged alternately and nearly in the same line when viewed in a lengthwise direction of a furnace. In a heating furnace wherein moving beams 3 and fixed beams 2 are arranged at narrow intervals, a lower, axialflow burner 9 is arranged on the widthwise wall 8 of the furnace in a lower zone between both beams 2 and 3. Consequently, the influence of a shadow resulting from a burner flame is reduced, so the radiant heat from the burner flame at the highest temperature is utilized effectively, obtainiing a uniform temp. distribution of a billet W in the widthwise direction of the furnace. |
