PURPOSE:To increase the sensitivity of a negative photographic emulsion in the blue light range and to prevent the sensitivity change due to a dead coating liq. by hypersensitizing the emulsion with 2 kinds of specified sensitizing dyes. CONSTITUTION:To a negative photographic emulsion are added a sensitizing dye represented by general formulaI(where each of Z11 and Z12 is a group of atoms required to form a ring such as benzoxazole, benzothiazole, benzoselenazole, benzimidazole, pyridine or quinoline, each of R11 and R12 is alkyl, alkenyl or aryl, R3 is H, methyl or ethyl, X 1is an anion, and l is 0 or 1) and a sensitizing dye represented by general formula II (where Z21 is a group of atoms required to form a ring such as benzoxazole, benzothiazole or benzoselenazole, Z22 is a group of atoms required to form a ring such as rhodanine, 2-thiohydntoin or 2- thioselenazoline-2,4-dione, and each of R21 and R22 is alkyl, alkenyl or aryl). |
