PURPOSE:To provide an electrode substrate of high heat resistance and strength by forming transparent conductive films on the unidirectionally stretched film of a composite base body of a longitudinally and transversely stretched plastic film, a polarizing film and a plastic film which is stretched only in one direction. CONSTITUTION:Transparent conductive films are provided on one surface of a base body including a polarizing film, whereby the reduction in the size and weight of a cell is realized. Silicone resins may be coated and a scratch resistance treatment may be applied on the surface (the surface not adhered with the polarizing film) of the longitudinally and transversely stretched film for the purpose of improving the surface hardness of the film or sheet, or an antireflection layer of magnesium fluoride or the like may be formed by vapor deposition thereon for the purpose of improving transmittance. Polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene isophthalate and polybutyrene terephthalate are preferable for the plastic film which is stretched only in one direction, in terms of liquid crystal dissolving resistance. |
