The invention relates to a process for making a unit batch of bread moulds consisting of a number of mutually congruent and upwardly open grooves 1 with a rectangular bottom 2 and with sides 3 folded up along their longer edges. They also have flanges 4, which project from their upper edges, and at least two pairs of slits 5 that reach between the upper and lower edges of the groove sides 3 and are mounted near each of the ends of the groove sides 3. Each groove 1 is placed widthways in such a way that the slits 5 in the groove sides 3 correspond to each other. The plates 8 with a cross-section corresponding to the slits 5 are then introduced through the slits 5 up to the point where the front edges of the plates 8 are stopped by an extra flange 7, which is arranged against the groove side 3 inwardly of the flange 4 on this groove side 3. A similar groove 1 with an extra flange 7 is inserted, with its normal flange 4 forward, over the rear ends of the upper plates 8 until this extra flange 7 is stopped by the plates 8.
