PURPOSE:To realize high-density recording without lowering an S/N ratio, by using a recording beam and a reproducing beam, which move in the radial direction while holding an interval related to a pitch of a concentric circle-like recording track. CONSTITUTION:A recording track T1 of the first round is recorded by a recording beam BR without operating a servomechanism. In this case, a position signal PS' and a position signal PS for deciding a start point S2 of a recording track T2 of the second round are recorded. When recording has reached an end point G1 of the track T1, it is stopped, a reproducing beam BP is moved toward a start point S1, and when reproduction of the track T1 has started, the tracking servo-mechanism starts its operation. When the position signal PS' has been reproduced, the recording track T2 of the second round starts its recording from the start point S2. Thereafter, in the same way, a recording track of the third, the fourth, and the fifth rounds, etc. is recorded. |
