PURPOSE:To reline the relining parts of the walls of a blast furnace in a perfect form by bringing the charging materials in the furnace down to a level below the damaged part of the wall, and removing the old bricks and old cooling bodies in the damaged parts, then fixing plane L-shaped cooling bodies disposed on both sides of the removed parts to the shell, and grasping fixing new bricks between the projections of both cooling bodies. CONSTITUTION:When the refractories and cooling bodies of the furnace wall are dislodged and damaged, the charging materials 5 in the blast furnace are brought down to a level below the damaged part A of the wall by empty furnace blowing out and the blast furnace is thoroughly cooled and banked. Thereafter, a working deck 10 is brought down from the furnace top to the position of the damaged part A. After the refractories and cooling bodies 2 of the wall in the part A are removed by the worker, L-shaped cooling bodies 2a, 2a disposed on both sides in the horizontal direction of the removed area are fixed to a shell 1. New bricks 3a are laid on the inner side of the furnace and both sides are grasped by the projecting parts 11, 11 of the bodies 2a, 2a.
