PURPOSE:To stabilize arcs and to obtain uniform welding beads surely by providing a plastic working means for reducing the sectional area of a wire for electrode between a accommodating frame and a wire feeder. CONSTITUTION:A plastic working means 12 is disposed between a reel 1 and a wire feeder 3, and a wire 2 for electrode is plastically deformed in different radial directions by said means, whereby the sectional area thereof is reduced. The relative positions of the wire feeder 3 and the means 12 are so adjusted as to be linear when the wire 2 is delivered from a welding torch 8 and the wire 2 is fed by driving a driving mechanism 4. A contact member 9 and a pressing means 10 for feeding electricity to the wire 2 are disposed to the torch 8 and since the member 9 and the wire 2 are held in contact with each other forcibly, electricity is fed surely to the wire 2. In addition, the wire 2 is fed linearly and since the point of feeding of electricity is made approximately constant by such linear feeding, the arcs are stabilized. |
