PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having high bonding strength, causing hardly stripping, falling and cracking even when exposed to a high temp., and suitable for use as a repairing material applicable by hot spraying by mixing carbonaceous unmeltable aggregate treated under heating with pitch. CONSTITUTION:Carbonaceous unmeltable aggregate such as anthracite, natural graphite or carbon black is charged into a calcining furnace such as a rotary kiln and treated under heating at >=1,100 deg.C. By mixing 60-30wt% of the treated aggregate (A) with 40-70wt% pitch (B) such as coal pitch with >= about 125 deg.C softening point obtd. by dry-distilling coal, a carbon material for castable refractories is formed. |
