<p>PURPOSE:To increase the detecting accuracy and to decrease the power consumption for a position detector which contains plural parallel thin resistance elements arranged on a potential distribution forming plate, by detecting the potential of a conductive plate when it is pressed and then detecting the pressed position. CONSTITUTION:The potentials which are substantially equal to each other are produced between both terminals of each of parallel thin resistance elements 3-1-3-6. Then the divided potential of any one of these resistance elements which is applied to a conductive plate 5 is detected when the plate 5 is pressed. Thus the position placed along the thin resistance element can be detected for the pressed point. The different potentials are applied to the elements 3-1-3-6, respectively, and the potentials of each thin resistance element which is applied to the plate 5 is detected when the plate 5 is pressed. As a result, the position of the pressed point can be detected in the direction orthogonal to the thin resistance element.</p> |
