PURPOSE:To measure the length of a conveyed object exactly by making a piece of paper or others conveyed at a specified speed on the conveying route and providing the first and second sensors with a specified distance between them along the conveying route. CONSTITUTION:A length detector is provided with upper and lower guide plates 1 and 2 that form a conveying route 3 and detection sensors 4 and 5 that are provided along the conveying route 3 with a specified distance between them. In this case the position detection sensors 4 and 5 are constituted with a light emitting element and a light receiving element and paper and similar products 6 are conveyed in the arrow-marked direction on the conveying route 3 by means of a conveying device. According to the present invention, by means of at least two sensors placed at a specified distance between them the length of a conveyed object is detected with the conveying speed taken in consideration. Therefore the length of a conveyed object can be detected exactly with a simple constitution. |
