PURPOSE:To manufacture a fluorescent lamp in a ring form nearly equal to a true circle by installing a fitting plate oppositely to a taking-up drum and permitting a softened glass bulb to be closely fitted onto the taking-up drum certainly. CONSTITUTION:The exhaust pipe 2 of a glass bulb 1 is held by a working head 3, the upper edge neck part 4 is held by a holding piece 5 and heated until softened. While, a taking-up drum 6 advances when the softened bulb 1 reaches a taking-up station, and the lower neck part 8 of the bulb 1 is held by the chucks 7a and 7b installed on the side surfaces of right and left taking-up drums 6a and 6b. After holding, an air cylinder 9 is operated, and an arm 10 is attached to a stopper 12 by the force of a spring 11, and then a fitting plate 13 is advanced to the position opposite to the drum 6, having the bulb 1 interposed. During the time when the drum 6 rises up, the inside of the bulb 1 is restricted by the drum 6, and the outside is restricted by the plate 13, and after taking- up, the bulb can be formed in a ring shape nearly equal to a true circle, as shown in Figure B. |
