PURPOSE:To always perform the reading under the optimum conditions, by obtaining an answer of the optimum conditions by a learning function from the result of the trial reading and then changing the reading conditions in consideration of various reading conditions and in response to the paper quality of a slip and the printing medium. CONSTITUTION:A slip 4 can be moved forward and backward through a slip feed control part 8. The slip 4 is irradiated by a metal halogen lamp 2, and the reflected light given from the slip 4 forms an image through a condenser lens 5. The reflected light of the lens 5 is converted into the electric signals through a photoelectric converting element 7, and the output of conversion is processed by an operational amplifier 47, etc. and under the control of a CPU9. Then reading conditions of the processing means such as the element 7, the amplifier A7, etc. can be changed by an input/output connection part IOC1, a high frequency pulse width variable power supply circuit 16, etc. Then the trial reading of the slip 4 is carried out with plural combinations of reading conditions. The result of the trial reading is compared with the correct answer that is fed previously. Then the reading conditions of high probability which is read by the trial reading is selected by the CPU9, and the part IOC1 and the part 8 are controlled. |
