Axial retainer for bracket with smooth hole on threaded rod - uses deformable block which forced into threads when compressed by tightening nut

The fitting has a metal mounting bracket (9) with a smooth hole (11) which fits over a threaded bolt. To provide axial location on the threaded bolt an elastically deformable grip (12) is slid over the bolt and with the bracket fitted under the head of the bolt. When the bolt is tightened, using the nut (4) which fits under the part (5) of the vehicle which supports the lamp mounting, the head pulls down onto the deformable grip, forcing it into the threads of the belt and so giving axial location. The bracket is pref. found from hard moulded plastics and contains two leg portions which are elastically deformable.
