Cores are produced from fluid mixts. in multiple impression hot boxes, on a machine comprising mixt. prepn., injection into core boxes, opening the boxes, and core removal, with transport between stages. Cure boxes are divided into upper and lower parts, with central and peripheral level holes in the upper. The central holes are closed by a principal, box mounted shutter worked by a machine frame mounted actuator, beside the injection equipment, and opened by another before the opening equipment. Two interconnected supplementary shutters cover the peripheral holes, one registering with an actuator beside the injection equipment, the other with one before the opening mechanism. The method of closing the level holes increases the throughput of the installation, and improves the quality of the prod.
