PURPOSE:To realize an effective application of a memory, by providing a parity bit part to each block in order to have an equal sum of the information bit number and the parity bit number among these blocks. CONSTITUTION:The memory blocks form a semiconductor serial memory and are capable of a random access in an optional way. A parity bit part 21 is provided to each of such memory blocks in addition to an information bit part 11. As a result, the sum of the information bit number and the parity bit number is always equal among the memory blocks. Thus an effective application is possible for a memory compared with a case when the sum of the information bit number and the parity bit number is not equal at the information bit part only. |
