<p>A cast product is extracted from a continuous casting installation by a moving carriage carrying cooled blocks out-lining the permieter. Each block is clamped on by a pair of wedges. One of each pair is fixed to the carriage, the others are connected by an adjustable link, and one is coupled to a transverse frame by a link of fixed length. The frame is connected to the extractors and to hydraulic jacks on the carriage which clamp the plates onto the cast product. The inner wedges can move freely perpendicular to the direction of extractin to free the blocks when the clamping force is removed. The operation of this devices assures reliable operation of a stepping extraction device, with good cooling in the secondary cooling area. (First major countr equivalent to AT8104936).</p> |
