PURPOSE:To obtain a dot impact type line printer of light weight and small drive force by a method in which a printing hammer bank is divided into plural sections and one section is used as a balancer. CONSTITUTION:Printing hammer banks 1 and 2 are provided such that they can move by a given distance in the lateral direction on two front and rear guide shafts 9 fixed to a frame 8. Compression springs 15 and 15' have an adequate spring constant suitable for absorbing the vibration of the printing hammer banks 1 and 2. As a motor 10 turns, the printing hammer bank 1 makes a sine movement in the right and left directions on the guide shafts 9 and 9' by means of an eccentric cam 12 and a crank 13. Drive force F is only one enough to compensate for losses resulting from friction and viscosity, and also the frame receives only the force of -F as the reaction of the drive force. |
